NO pistons, cams or flapper valves
NO plastic parts
NO electronics in the well
Lorentz pumps are field serviceable
Lorentz solar pumps are manufactured with a modular design; the pump end, pump motor and pump controller are totally separate items and can be replaced individually, if required. Some solar pumps on the market today are manufactured with an integrated pump/motor/controller design and are not repairable. If any one integrated part fails, the entire pump must be replaced. The Lorentz modular design approach offers lower cost repairs and eliminates the need to purchase an entire new integrated pump/motor/controller unit in the event of a component failure.
LORENTZ PUMPS FOR BATTERY OPERATIONS
If the home already has a battery bank that is close enough to the well to avoid
excessive voltage drops due to long wire runs, the pump system can be powered by the existing
battery bank. A load analysis should be done before adding a pump system to
home power systems to make sure that the batteries, solar array or other
generating source can produce enough power. In most home pressurizing systems
the pump only operates for an hour or less per day so the pump system is a very
small addition to the household loads.
Lorentz pump systems are available for operation from a 24 volt or
48
volt battery bank.
If you are planning to operate a Lorentz pump in a pressure tank
configuration, please keep in mind that the pump sees pressure as additional
lift in a ratio of 2.31 feet to 1 pound of water pressure. In other words, if you are going to
operate a pressure system at 50 psi the pump will require an additional 115.5 feet
of lift capability to accommodate the additional pressure. This additional lift must be added to the total vertical lift required by the system in order
to choose the correct pump system from the sizing chart.
